TWELVE BAGS OF WORRY

Whoa! Watch your smile sir
Careful, my burden’s heavy
I almost dropped a bag there
Outta my twelve big bags of worry

‘Twas almost that silent night
In the last month of the year
I juggled my way through the street
Dodging laughter and good cheer

I thought I was doing okay
Till I heard that happy melody
One bag, two bag, three bags down
Oh no! That’s too many

Soon cries of my broken heart
Drowned the steady knocks of joy
Till I tripped on a smile and dropped some,
While I picked a girl’s stocking and toy

Hugs and kisses, faith and hope
All bade farewell to pain
Just halfway down the street
And I was friends with life again

Red and green replaced dull and grey
Wait… how come the bags are just four?
Golden bells chimed in reply
You forgot some outside St. Patrick’s door

Friendly gazes tugged at my bags
Message from home poked my heart
I held on tight to my bags so lone
Till the kiss of love let them all fall apart

Whoa! A smile for you sir
Can’t stop dancing now, honey
I traded my burden with Christmas cheer
Gone are the twelve big bags of worry

Song for you...

A million thoughts run wild
As those innocent eyes gleam.
Oh girlie, won't you tell me
What that wicked smile means?

You hide behind perfection
Alas! For how long?
All rules will be forgotten
When you hear your favourite song!

You move like a dream,
Give your all, or none...
And when it's dark and cold
You shine brighter than the sun.

Like two lucid notes
From the same melody,
Friend, room-mate, soul sister...
I rejoice in our familiarity.

You are the voice in my head
a gentle reminder of who I've become.
I am you, you are me
And we are one!

orange trees

Orange trees
Dancing to a summer dream
A breezy game
I hear them whisper your name
Glistening blues
Wish I could sail with you
Midnight sky
Empty like a silent good-bye

A perfect way to bid good-bye

Each second brings me closer
To the very end.
I sit here and wonder
Why did it all begin?

Can I wrap those days
In a final embrace?
Will I move on just fine
Or stay in this haze?
Will you kiss me till
It hurts no more?
Will you sing that song
Till I hear no more?
Will silence be my reward,
Or words your weapon?
will tears drown this sorrow,
Or a night soon forgotten...

A bit long or too short,
With a smile or a sigh-
Tell me, is there really
A perfect way to bid good-bye?

Delicate

Eyes whisper. Lips dream.
What’s the story?
Between you and me.

No past to reminisce.
No future to behold.
Then what glory
Will today unfold?

Hopeless hope.
Desires wait.
Our love?
Delicate!

My mamma was wrinkled
With light grey eyes
Her touch so gentle
And aura so wise

Coming back from school
Holding her hand
She asked to me prefix
Mamma with grand!

Copying her writing and habits
And sharing the same plate,
My office going mamma I loved,
But my grandmamma was just great

Soon on the road to perfection
Mercilessly I was moulded
Till I became independent
This child quietly emulated

After many years of prayers
To the good God above
She loosened her grip
And overflowed her love

I prided her workmanship
Flaunted being her granddaughter
Yet one fine day
I was greeted as 'stranger'

My wardrobe exploded
These curls grew longer
Buddies and Friends multiplied
But our time got shorter

I am now young
Grandma is getting older
I see age catching up
And remember how great we were

Life full of fun and joy
Times of learning and love i see
Days were bright and sunny
When it was Grand mamma and me!

Words unspoken. Eyes not woken.
Dreams are real
Rules are broken

Past is blurred. Future uncertain.
Who am I?
Presently unwritten

Shining eyes. Yours or mine
Reflections lie
there's truth in signs

Dried smiles. Flooded eyes
Drought of time
Drowned in silent tides

Shadows lurk. Promises forgotten
Eternal rain
Hope's forsaken

Missing pieces. Incompleteness
Warmth of love
Thwarting loneliness

Starry nights. Days of gold.
Memories' embrace

I am not alone!
