If every drop was a melodious note
Strung together to make a symphony
My tears would sing a love song
Though drenched in dry melancholy
If these crystals danced and twirled
Hopelessly upon my cold cheek
Up on their toes, as Gisele, they would
Perform till my eyes go bleak
If these droplets were pearls
Part of a silent rosary
Every prayer to God would be for you
Till these oysters became weary
If a kaleidoscope of colours they were
Painting a wish, a thought, a reverie
My muse would just be memories.
Times now lost in history!
If these were scattered letters,
Speaking the language of my heart,
Every syllable. every unspoken word.
Would recite the aching saga of being apart
No dream, no dance, no sound,
Not even a prayer painted by me.
A transparent feeling, moist yet arid,
Every tear is a reminder that I need thee!
