In a magical forest
Far, far away
Lived a pack of wolves
And their queen, Fairmay
Like jewels in the sun
Her gold skin gleamed
She ran wild and free
Under a blanket of dreams
One autumn evening
The queen was mesmerised
The huntress became the hunted
By sparkling dark eyes
Golden days followed
Filled with magic, love and dreams
But silver nights were
The queens dark secret to keep
One stormy, full moon night
As she battled with herself
Slash went the arrow
And coloured the moon red
Her beautiful world ended
Like a dream at dawn
But memories of love and laughter
Carried her home
The fire in the hunters eyes
Died as they brimmed with sorrow
It was no wolf, but his Fairmay
Her heart, his arrow.
Every full moon, the hunter and the wolves
Come together as one
Remembering the love of the queen
For her hunter, her lover, her all.
