Star of Estel

An evening star shines alone
Burning away in the night
A star reveling in its solitude
In the shadows the only light.

To guide the lost he wanders the skies,
And keeps alive their lamp of belief.
While he burns itself every night,
In the oil of melancholy and grief

Some look up at him in the dark
And find solace... a friend.
Yet, some question his privilege
Of being closer to heaven's tent.

His beauty shines through the darkness
In light, though around, none can see.
As a quiet spectator of the world
The Eleanor lives his days in irony.

So long he has been afar
That he believes it to be his destiny
A mere spec in the shadow he calls himself
When he's the king of the entire galaxy

No treasure. No love. Nothing to hold on to
No dream. No desire. He has no one.
Just light and hope to give away.
A silver soul makes his only possession.

But the rarest of lessons he's taught me
A lesson none other can understand
The joy of oneness of souls he gifted me
Though he lives in a far, far away land

Like a dear yet distant dream
He says, “I will fade away one day”.
I'll walk beyond the seas then
Just to be close to my

Star of Estel
